Tsim Sha Tsui is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. The Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront has the Avenue of Stars and the Cultural Centre, Star Ferries cross to Central and Wan Chai, and the area is full of hotels, malls and restaurants.

Went here during the summer when we were visiting HK and it was pretty busy due to the Ave of the Stars show getting ready to start. We walked in and when I was getting ready to pay the cashier (an older lady) didn't give the person before us their change. Supposedly the guy ran off and she yelled out for him, but of course he was long gone. Our stuff was rung up for ~45 HKD and I paid with 100 HKD. The cashier gave me my change and we went to go to the harbor. I didn't realize until after I walked away that she short changed me and gave me 45 HKD back instead of the 55 HKD. Like the previous customer, too late to do anything about it. Pretty unbelievable for this to happen twice in a row with the same cashier.

On 18 April 2025 around 12 pm, I was first time topping up my octopus card here and put the card on wrong place of validator equipment as didn’t explained to me anything. The old lady there seems to be very annoyed, she just mockingly snatched the card and put it in right place, expecting that a foreigner first time topping should know everything. I really regret the behaviour. Hopefully she wasn’t stressed from any matter earlier
