About 阿山龍祥旅館

阿山龍祥旅館, a hostel in Mong Kok, Yau Tsim Mong, is at Rm 1406, 83 Argyle St, Mong Kok, Kowloon. Before heading over it is worth checking the hours, phone number and Google rating below, so the trip is not wasted. This is an upstairs shop: the way in is usually through the building lobby rather than from the street, so check the building name, floor and unit before you go and allow a few minutes for the lift.

When booking, check whether the rate includes service charges and breakfast, read the cancellation terms and compare with the property's own website. Prices are highest and rooms scarcest at Christmas, New Year, Lunar New Year and during major trade fairs and concerts; with heavy luggage, a stay near an MTR or Airport Express station makes life easier. Hostels offer dorm beds and private rooms, ask for ID at check-in, and some provide lockers.

No opening hours have been published here yet; the Google Maps link on this page shows the latest details. Bear in mind that many small shops close over Lunar New Year and may not open while a typhoon or black rainstorm warning is in force. Phone: 2787 5934. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. Its website is ahshanhostel.com, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

It has a Google rating of 3.8 out of 5 from 340 reviews. Opinions are mixed but broadly steady, and the latest reviews are the best guide to what to expect.

Mong Kok is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Mong Kok is one of Hong Kong's busiest shopping districts: Tung Choi Street (the Ladies' Market) and Fa Yuen Street (Sneakers Street) are lined with small shops, and the buildings along Nathan Road hold countless upstairs shops.

Disappointing experience: Rude management and overpriced for the quality I decided to stay at Ah Shan Hostel for one night after a week in a hotel to experience the local vibe and meet people. Unfortunately, it was a huge mistake. I paid €86 for a tiny private room, which is extremely expensive for what you actually get. The bathroom had no separation for the shower, meaning the entire toilet gets soaked every time you use it. However, the worst part was the service. When I returned to pick up my luggage (which they keep unsecured in the hallway without any tags), the owner—an older woman—started screaming at me simply because I was putting some items I had just bought into my suitcase. She was incredibly aggressive, raising her voice and implying that I could be stealing from others. When I calmly asked her not to shout and offered to show her the receipt for my purchases, she continued to be hostile. To make matters worse, despite having paid a premium price for a hostel, she refused to let me charge my phone for a few minutes (I had 3% battery and needed to get to the airport) unless I paid an extra rental fee. Her response to my complaints was simply: "Go to a hotel next tim

Should you be seeking an accommodation option in the vibrant heart of Hong Kong that is also budget-friendly, Ah Shan Hostel presents itself as a prime choice, prioritizing convenience above all else. The most remarkable aspect of this hostel is, unequivocally, its location. Positioned directly in the central area of the Mong Kok district, you will find yourself merely a one to two-minute stroll from the MTR station and major bus routes. Furthermore, you are just steps away from the Ladies' Market and prominent shopping centers. The surrounding thoroughfares are replete with an extensive array of local and international dining establishments. The hostel is situated within a lively, high-density residential building. While elevator usage may experience congestion during peak times, potentially leading to a five to ten-minute wait, this offers a truly authentic insight into the daily routines and living circumstances of local residents. It provides a raw, genuine, and dynamic ambiance that differs significantly from the more pristine environment of a luxury hotel. Regarding practical considerations, this is a budget-conscious establishment, making it most suitable for travelers who

Nice place to stay in a lively area for a very good price. After a bit of a trek to find the place (there's a few other hostels/apartments in this block) I found the owner to be really accommodating and place very clean. Beds and room were small but this in HK after all, I got lucky with some friendly dorm-mates also. Nothing fancy but you don't pay extra either.
