Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Food was very good, but ultimately on the expensive for what it was and thus ultimately this is fair (average) value for money. Service was good and responsive - no problem there. We had a private room which was nice and quiet. Cleanliness is a big question mark for me. The doors, walls, elevator, and even our table before we sat down were grimy, sticky, and greasy. So were some of the chairs. The restroom also should have been cleaner. Please keep the restaurant cleaner!

The Choi Kee Private in Causeway Bay took the spotlight at the Asian Spicy Crab King (20th edition). Located right in Causeway Bay, it’s the go‑to spot when you’re craving seafood with friends. Easy to reach from the MTR, it has cozy VIP vibes, and that typhoon shelter spicy crab absolutely slaps with garlic and chili—crispy garlic bits everywhere, the kind you keep picking at even after the crab’s gone. The clams in black bean sauce deliver a deep, savory punch, while the crab oil noodles are silky, rich, and coated with that umami crab essence without ever feeling heavy. Even the garlic vegetables hit the spot, keeping things fresh and balanced. At HK$698 for two, it feels like a hidden gem deal. This 40‑year OG has also opened a new branch in Shenzhen Luohu. I’ll definitely give it a try if I travel to China during Easter!

Price was reasonably high I could say. But food was rather marvelous! Not far from any public transport and walk a bit. Recommended menu that I remembered was razor clam, fried morning glory (pic 4), and stir fried beef (not sure maybe tenderloin but very very TENDER!☺️). The signature crab menu I think it was so so. Overall very good, may come back next time stay in HK.

First, the positive: The food actually tastes pretty good and the quality of the seafood is good - meaty and juicy. Then the negative: the price. Outrageously expensive, we felt they were not transparent with us and recommended the most expensive dish. The price does not reflect the food quality whatsoever. You can get the same flavours for 40% of the price in nearby restaurants. This is either a tourist trap or a place for businessmen to take clients and expense their meals. If the prices or the seafood were 30% cheaper this would be acceptable. We paid 600+ per person and none of us were full. Overall disappointing price and quantity.

We managed to get our own dining room on the 3rd floor. The restaurant takes up the floors in this building and 2nd floor is for tables. The food was truly wonderful with plenty of wok hey to pass around. Although we didn’t order their signature crab, all dishes turned out wonderful. We liked the scrambled eggs with prawns. The eggs turned out very fluffy and soft. Their fried tofu is also famous. Certainly also order the lotus root with pork jowl. Service was a little slow however, but we had a relaxed time in the dining room.
