Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Causeway Bay is packed with malls and department stores and is very crowded at weekends; nearby Victoria Park hosts the Lunar New Year fair.

Large, amazing, a spot of quick shopping. This place is surrounded by large shopping malls e.g Times Square, however it’s its own uniqueness in terms of different brands and different products is there. I did quick visit without intention of shopping and found out its unique and product range.

SOGO had always been my favourite department store, it has everything at the prime location, from supermarket and small stores that’s sells fresh goods. It also has restaurants and plenty of shops within the building. I can easily spend hours there and the mtr right under the building is definitely a bonus too.

SOGO on Hong Kong Island is one of those classic department stores that’s been around forever, and it still feels lively every time you walk in. It’s right in Causeway Bay, so the location couldn’t be better. You step out of the subway and you’re basically already there. The store is huge with many floors, and you can find almost everything inside — cosmetics, clothes, household items, snacks, and a big food section. Some floors feel a bit crowded because it’s always busy, but that’s part of the energy of the place. It’s the kind of store where locals actually shop, not just tourists walking around. One of the highlights is the basement food area. Lots of Japanese snacks, desserts, and ready-to-eat items. Easy place to grab something quick if you’re in the area. Overall SOGO is not fancy or flashy like some of the newer malls, but that’s also why it’s good. It’s a classic Hong Kong department store that still has real variety and a lot going on. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re around Causeway Bay.

SOGO Causeway Bay is one of those Hong Kong landmarks that feels alive the moment you step inside. It’s busy, bright, and full of movement, but in a way that feels exciting rather than overwhelming. The store stretches across multiple floors, each one dedicated to a different category, so you get this sense of discovery as you ride the escalators up and down. Everything is clearly labelled, and the layout is surprisingly easy to follow once you get used to the vertical flow. The ground floor is always buzzing, especially around the beauty counters. Staff are attentive and quick to help, and the range of brands is huge, from everyday favourites to premium names. As you move up, you’ll find fashion, home goods, lifestyle items, and Japanese snacks — a mix that makes SOGO feel like a one‑stop shop for almost anything. The Japanese influence is strong throughout, giving the store a clean, organised feel. What stands out most is the atmosphere. There’s a sense of energy that comes from being in the heart of Causeway Bay, surrounded by locals and visitors all moving with purpose. Even if you’re not planning a big shopping trip, it’s easy to spend time here browsing, sampling products,
