Eight Star Street

Eight Star Street is a property developer in Wan Chai, at 香港島灣仔星街8號. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it.

Property deals involve large sums: before signing a provisional sale and purchase agreement, do a Land Registry search to check ownership and mortgages, and budget for stamp duty, solicitor's fees and agent's commission. Renting usually means a deposit plus rent in advance, and the tenancy should be in writing and say who handles repairs; for new developments, the Sales of First-hand Residential Properties Authority publishes useful information. New developments must publish a sales brochure and price lists, which are available on the first-hand residential sales website.

Google shows it as open around the clock; any changes on public holidays or in severe weather are announced by the business itself. You can call 8300 0212; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. Its website is hk.centanet.com, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

No Google reviews yet, so a personal recommendation or a quick call is the best guide; many small shops still run on regulars and word of mouth.

Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.
