I got nothing to complaint for a local restaurant, a warm welcome by the boss and he made good recommendation for food. The chicken rice is delicious, but budgeting $55 only

We have been to this place twice during our stay in Hong Kong. The owner has been incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food is authentic Hong Kong Chan Chan Teng breakfast. Dumplings are made freshly every day and our top fav was the egg scallion sandwich with iced milk tea. Strongly recommend to everyone in Kwun Tong!

Within Kwun Tong’s competitive and crowded foodscape, this is the eatery to go to when the cravings for street food hit you. The entire experience is composed of 60% entertainment and 40% food. Place is friendly, filled with locals, and the humorous proprietor, undoubtedly the star attraction of the diner, is always happy to explain the menu and offers suggestions that creatively mix the dishes with different toppings and styles of fancy versions of their street food. Is the food delicious or good value for money? The locals have voted with their wallets for a resounding yes.

We had lunch at Hoi Chiu Canteen at Kwun Tong today. This one is famous canteen in Hong Kong and lots of positive YouTube reviews. The front door does not have signs, and it is easy to miss the entrance door. We sat down quickly and ordered shredded chicken with curry mince meat scramble eggs on instant noodle, deep fry siu mah, and scallion scramble egg sandwiches. No surprise, they all taste good! I especially like the sandwiches. If you know the owner well, he will get you something special (omakase set). The owner is talkative and always check to make sure the food is good. Highly recommended this canteen!

The owner was really friendly and gave us really good recommendations of dishes. We enjoyed every dish he recommended. The special chilly oil was also delicious! Went really well with the dumplings and the deep fried shumai. Egg sandwich with spring onion is a must try👍🏻 There’s not much space inside, so I’d recommend visiting during non-peak hours.
