I regret using HelloJack! and wish I had read the previous one-star review before going ahead. Parts of that review, including concerns about the service and Philip’s response afterwards, now feel very similar to our own experience. Philip came across as warm, credible, and confident in person, which is why we trusted him. Shortly after we paid our deposit, there was a serious issue involving an urgent WhatsApp request for HKD 20,000 for building materials. After the money was sent, Philip later said his WhatsApp had been hijacked. We reported the incident to the police and lost the money. The project itself was also very disappointing. The quote was expensive, and when we pushed back on decisions that did not match the reference photos or the standard we expected, we were told it would cost more. Before the project had even started on site, we decided not to continue because we had lost confidence. We were already significantly out of pocket and worried the additional costs would keep piling on. Exceptional Service and Expertise from Hello Jack Last week, our office faced a sudden and challenging situation when our conference room's glass wall cracked unexpectedly in the middle of the night. In urgent need of assistance, we initially reached out to our regular contractor. Unfortunately, they projected a lengthy delay, quoting two weeks just for an estimate and an additional three weeks for the actual repair. This timeline was simply not feasible for us. HelloJack undertook a home renovation project for us a few months back and did a really nice job bring our old flat back to new and back to life. They did a complete repaint, installed new kitchen cabinets and took care of numerous other handyman tasks including fixing/mending broken windows, door hinges, replacing door handles & broken light sockets, etc... Project cost was reasonable, communication in English wasn't an issue for them and work was completed a few days ahead of schedule. Now nearly three months have passed and everything remains in tip top shape. Time spent in our flat and our quality of life is much nicer after working with HelloJack. Happily recommend contacting them to discuss home improvement and handyman works needed for your flat here in HK.

Hello Jack is an excellent platform to connect suitable handymen with home/s in need of repairs (of varying scales and complexities). The handyman arrived within the week. He was not only punctual and polite but importantly, provided a professional and thorough service. I understand that the handyman would vary from time to time and differ from one job to another. That said, I would not hesitate to recommend Hello Jack as a place to help people find trustworthy help they so direly need at times!

Edit: For the record, I'm not an expat, born and raised in Hong Kong, but the response I've received on this review just shows how this company is not only unprofessional and rude, but also racist. The positive reviews (e.g. Melanie Chan, Richard Yuen) that were posted today are all from Hello Jack employees. The invoice was paid (screenshot attached), although reluctantly, and within the due date of the invoice. --- Not only is this business a scam, the founder of the company also sent a series of rude messages, e.g. calling what they're charging me to do a few tasks "lousy dollars" and that I should be "grateful" that someone was willing to do the tasks I've requested. No formal apologies in the end, and instead started bothering me to pay although the invoice wasn't even due for another month. I had to ask them to stop harassing me (both business contact and founder's personal contact started messaging and calling), especially when they didn't even complete the job in the first place and their invoice wasn't due yet. Took 3 weeks to process my request, which I wasn't too fussed about, it's how poorly the situation was handled that I was most disappointed about. Their worker
