Mong Kok is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Mong Kok is one of Hong Kong's busiest shopping districts: Tung Choi Street (the Ladies' Market) and Fa Yuen Street (Sneakers Street) are lined with small shops, and the buildings along Nathan Road hold countless upstairs shops.

This is a truly hyperlocal wet market with a fantastic cooked food centre on the top floor. I really appreciate that they have escalators and lifts to make the trip up easier, though the stairs are always an option if you're feeling energetic. While the building feels a bit old and "lived-in," you can tell the staff is doing their best to maintain hygiene within the vintage setting. The star of the show upstairs is definitely the famed Mui Kee Porridge, but if you visit at night, the various Dai Pai Dongs offer a great atmosphere for a classic HK meal.

This is another local and tourist attraction. Friendly vendors, something for everyone. Let's support this market and all the nice people in Hk.My experience in HK is very positive. People are well manners, girls are very lively with compassion. Food is affordable and very tasty. I will come back to visit again and again.

Timeslip of a place and a welcome respite from the harsh midday August heat. The lunch for 2 with Two cold bottles of Tsingtao was a bargain, ordered and brought to us by a lovely Hong Kong Chinese auntie with a very polite English accent. Ah, the way things used to be.

This food centre comes alive during supper. The dominant hawker is Woo Soh Loh Mong Kok Tai Pai Tong. Good value food minus Hong Kong fancy restaurant ambience.

I think this could be one of the best Thai food place to eat. Everything in the menu tasted really good! Try the chefs recommendations, try the green curry, the beef salad. Sure it will be one of the highlight in one of your itinerary
