Efficient and amazing customer service. Got to open an integrated account without getting into waiting. Leo (the branch manager I suppose) was fast, concise and patient, while managed to serve multiple customers, and answering a plethora of questions from his colleagues all the time while not losing track of my application. The lady at the front desk was so patient with the old customers who were not well-versed in technology, guiding them through each single step. A young staff volunteer to provide a ram for a senior customer in wheelchair. The essence of Hong Kong spirit.

Ridiculously long lineups. Hsbc reduces branches but demands you have to show up in person to do trivial things at the branches.

Update: Unfortunately some staff are not well versed in their understanding of services or are deliberately making account opening difficult for ethnic minorities. After arriving early to set an appointment for bank account opening for someone, the staff only asked to wait to see documents first, not any criteria nor any notice that they are full on appointments. But when the people arrived, another staff told us to go to Mongkok branch and call the hotline 2233000 to book an appointment. We insisted on calling there as previously I had already gone to a premiere branch and also was unable to get through. So when she tried herself she ended up being told that was not possible. So she offered to give an appointment on a Saturday morning with me having to prompt her to take the HKID and tel no. So I suppose as an old premier account holder they would have: Great service, good staff. But to others, seems no.

Service is terrible. Had to choose 1 star so I can write this review - but they don’t even deserve that. Have all the documents to open an account as to which previously adviced having temporary ID card and being asked if I had another passport?! (I hold British passport). And now being turned down for an account. MAKE UP YOUR MIND SO PEOPLE DON’T WASTE TIME queuing for nothing and to be told no! WILL NOT BE RETURNING AT ALL.
