Admiralty is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Paying is easy in Hong Kong: Octopus, credit cards, FPS and e-wallets such as PayMe, AlipayHK and WeChat Pay HK are widely used, although some small shops, market stalls and hawkers still take cash only.

Inside Hong Kong Park in Admiralty, the Forsgate Conservatory spans 1,400 m² and is promoted as the largest greenhouse in Southeast Asia. It features three climate‑controlled zones—Display Plant House, Dry Plant House, and Humid Plant House—showcasing desert succulents, tropical rainforest species, and seasonal exhibitions. Free to enter and open daily, it’s a peaceful, educational highlight within the park.

I must see for nature lovers. The Hong Kong Conservatory is a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. A brush a fresh air scented with exotic flowers and plant life. It was a great stop within the Hong Kong Park and we’re so happy we were able to make it. I marked this as a must see for anyone visiting Hong Kong.

Forsgate Conservatory, also known as the Hong Kong Park Conservatory, is a charming attraction tucked inside Hong Kong Park in Admiralty. It’s conveniently accessible, just a short walk from Pacific Place mall, making it an easy stop for anyone already in the area. Although the conservatory isn’t very large, it houses an impressive collection of fascinating plants. The space is divided into two main zones — the desert section and the rainforest section — each showcasing a wide range of species suited to its environment. The diversity of plants on display is truly eye-opening, from unique cacti and succulents to lush tropical greenery. Overall, it’s a peaceful and educational spot perfect for plant lovers or anyone looking for a quiet break from the city’s bustle.

Meticulous and creative conservatory. The plants are very well loved. Enjoyed my visit. The orchid collection was stunning - not things I see in the US.

The Forsgate conservatory is located inside the Hong Kong Park above the pondside restaurant and near the aviary. It's divided into several sections with a section dedicated to orchids and a dry plant section for cacti. There's also a large area with a pathway that has artificial waterfalls. This place is beautiful
