It has been a pleasure dealing with Hana Japan on the purchase of my first Japan property. I am particularly grateful to Jason and Natsuki-san for making the experience a positive and successful one. Their knowledge, attention to detail and promptness in replying gave me a great deal of confidence throughout the process. Jason and Natsuki-san were both very patient in answering my many queries and took the time to explain things clearly, especially when almost all documents were in Japanese language and this was my first time buying. Highly recommended, especially for overseas buyers looking for trustworthy and professional assistance with buying property in Japan.

I’m writing this review after a long period of hesitation, but I believe it’s important to share my experience. I had known both Jason and Glass (the owner) for many years before doing business with this firm. I met Glass socially before I met Jason, and I met Jason through a close friend. Jason was previously my bond sales when he was at Nomura, and we had also spent time together socially. Because of these long-standing relationships, there was a high level of trust when I proceeded with a major real estate transaction through them. I purchased multiple hotel units in a new development in Japan through this firm. The developer ultimately did not have proper title, the project was never built, and I lost the full amount of the three units which I had paid in full. After consulting several independent lawyers, I was advised that a proper title check—a core responsibility of the agent in Japan—had not been completed, leaving me without legal recourse against the developer. What has been most disappointing is the lack of accountability afterward. Despite the transaction failing entirely and my losing the full investment, the firm retained its broker fees (received via the seller).

I had an excellent experience working with Japan Hana on the sale of my properties in Japan. This was not a straightforward transaction, as it involved navigating a complex arrangement with the property developer and the existing tenant under the lease. Despite the challenges, Japan Hana handled the process with professionalism, diligence, and composure. They have fluent English speaking representatives and strong understanding of international clients’ needs. Jason particularly explained the local market practices with patience, anticipated potential issues, and communicated proactively to ensure that I was always well-informed. Key highlights - always acted a trusted advisor, smooth handling of administrative, financial and legal matters, timely responses and always available for a more in depth talk. Me and my family often go to Japan for short vacation! I am glad that I bought a great apartment in Osaka currently, the location is close enough to the main shopping area! I want to thank the saleslady for taking her time to counsel us and find various nice properties for us to choose. She is always being on time in every meeting. I would recommend this agency to my friends who are interested in japan properties. They are the definite choice for us!
