Kowloon City is part of the Kowloon City District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Kowloon City is famous for Thai restaurants and grocers, most of them street-level shops, and the nearby Kowloon Walled City Park is good for a stroll.

This is a great repurposed land filled with history slowly fading away. How many Hong Kong people still remember the old Kowloon City? There are so many books and documentaries that talk about the city before it was demolished and reconstructed to be the park today. There are also many artifacts from more than 100 years ago worth a visit in the park as well.

Very interesting place to visit. Big garden, remnants of Kowloon Walked City, and also parts of old building behind/rooms to show how they lived. No admission fee!

Kowloon Walled City speaks a very disturbing but yet intriguing past of Hong Kong. Remnants of the walled city only occupy a small portion of the park, but there is a model near the front entrance that gives a more comprehensive view. If you're interested in exploring Hong Kong's Kowloon walled City past, I recommend going the exhibition to the nearby mall "Airside". They are currently exhibiting the movie set replicating Kowloon Walled City, definitely go check it out!

Very cool to see the remnants of the south gate, it was also quite insightful to read the information plaques and learn about the history of the Kowloon walled city and the significance of the old south gate.

Good place to walk in and to get an impression of the former Walled Kowloon City, demolitioned in the 90ies and removed to homogenize the law and culture of the city’s inhabitants. With a little bit of luck you meet Sing Man Lee, a very competent veteran and volunteer who explains in detail and what special insider knowledge all the aspects of the former construction and way of living. Maybe he is the last one to keep all this alive.
