Solicitors, accountants and other professionals usually charge by the matter, by the hour or by the project, so ask for a written quotation and engagement letter setting out the scope and fees. Solicitors in Hong Kong are regulated by the Law Society of Hong Kong, and practising accountants are registered with the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council; both can be checked online. Employment agencies must hold a Labour Department licence; for official documents, check whether a certified translation is needed.

Google lists the opening hours as daily, 10:30–18:00. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 2818 4188. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. More information is on its website, kasamaid.com.

North Point is part of the Eastern District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. In North Point the trams run right through the stalls of Chun Yeung Street market, and the area has many long-standing Fujianese and Shanghainese shops.
