Lam Tin is part of the Kwun Tong District in Kowloon. Kowloon is densely packed: Nathan Road runs north from Tsim Sha Tsui towards Prince Edward, lined along with its side streets by shops, restaurants and upstairs businesses, and most places are a few minutes' walk from an MTR station. Mong Kok's street markets, Sham Shui Po's electronics and fabric streets and Kowloon City's Thai restaurants are familiar landmarks for shopping and eating. Hong Kong has more than a dozen public holidays a year; around Lunar New Year, Easter, Mid-Autumn and Christmas many businesses change their hours, and some small shops close for three to seven days over Lunar New Year.

I usually come here during exam season, as to utilise the study rooms. They’re usually quiet, with some exceptions. As an example, some students typically spend their time chatting quietly with their friends (I was an unfortunate victim of this as 2 of my seat mates were cackling like a pair of grotesque witches. Besides this, some locals usually take advantage of the relaxing environment- air conditioning and WIFI, and just scroll on their phones and take up space, which annoys me because I’ve observed some certain cases where students were unable to study due to the influx of “locals”. Pros: - Free WIFI! - You’re basically in a library so there’s always going to be a certain resource for you. - Extremely clean and comfortable spot. Typically quiet and relaxing. Cons: - Could have staff members asking people who don’t come into the study room to study leave. - Have staff members quiet rowdy students down as they interfere with the learning process. Overall, highly recommended place to just relax and study. 7.8/10. 😁😁
