Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

Safe to say Mizunara is my favorite bar in hk. First discovered it on a work trip two years ago, and now I come back every time I’m in town. That’s commitment.

Best bar ever, very good cocktails and Whiskey. The seasonal menu is a must try (2026 May: Tomato and Japanese Citrus).

Very classy, sophisticated and at the same time understated bar with Japanese vibes and hard to miss entrance. There is even an outdoor stone garden small terrace. The cocktails are truly sophisticated and high quality, a couple of mocktail options and great snacks / apps. Recommend to book in advance. Perfect for a date or a catchup with a friend in a quiet ambiance.

Dropped by on a Tuesday night just before last call and still got a bar seat. This Japanese-style bar is all about precision and hospitality. Massimo took excellent care of me: great conversation, genuine enthusiasm, and he even let me stay after hours to taste a few things. Service was outstanding, and the drinks flawless. They had just landed the #297 spot on the 2025 Top 500 list, very well deserved. A hidden gem in Wanchai.

Tucked inside a residential building, this hidden bar offers an intimate and refined Japanese experience - complete with a small garden view and even a high-tech toilet. Cocktails are crafted with care, focusing on Japanese flavours and quality spirits. Everything felt balanced, spirit-forward, and thoughtful. Prices are higher, but matched by the level of detail and execution. A calm, exclusive spot - one of the stronger cocktail bars in Hong Kong and well worth a visit for those who value craftsmanship.
