When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Book wedding and birthday banquets months ahead.

At 3.8 out of 5 on Google (1,078 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.
Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

All the stir-fried dishes here are truly authentic, each one served fresh and piping hot (Wok-Hey) We ordered the pork lung soup, absolutely top-notch! The first sip was rich and flavorful, with a sticky, collagen-filled texture that’s not only good for the lungs but also delicious. The food quality is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The environment and service are both local and welcoming, with friendly staff. There are both ground and upper floor seating, so it’s best to reserve a table in advance. Highly recommended!

Meeting my relatives for CNY dinner at Sharp Star Restaurant serving up a wide range of Cantonese cuisine from fresh seafood, siu mei, wok hay dishes to hot pot. Salted Fish & Minced Pork Patty Savory patties made with fragrant salted fish and minced pork with a balanced amount of fat content. Clam Soup w/ Pepper & Pickled Cabbage A huge pot loaded with clams, tender pig‘s stomach, and vermicelli noodles that soaked up the slightly spicy and briny soup packed with flavors. Shrimp w/ Lemongrass & Pepper in Stone Pot Another dish that went perfectly with beer. Served in a piping hot stone pot. Fresh crunchy shrimps coated in fragrant pepper and lemongrass. Hokkien Fried Rice The best I've had in forever! A plate of beautifully fried rice with eggs topped with colorful ingredients such as mushrooms, chicken slices, chopped shrimps and scallops. The rich sauce and ingredients with various textures went in harmony with the chewy rice. Osmanthus Flower Jelly A complimentary goldfish-shaped dessert. Not too sweet. All dishes were nicely prepared and came in big portions. Would definitely revisit as this restaurant offered great value.

Popular restaurant serving delicious Cantonese menu. At lunch hours, smaller servings are offered at lower price. Great for sampling more variety. 1) pork ribs with preserved plum underlings fermented olive flavouring. Unique blend of seasoning which worked, giving a slight sweet taste. 2) fried salty pork patties - good flavour, crispy outside, salty from salted fish. 3) mixed Buddha veggie plate - flavourful mixture of mushrooms and fresh vegetables stri fried and lightly coated with a thin glaze 4) classic stir fried beef hor fun - good amount of beef slices with dark soy seasoned rice fettuccine, garnished with scrambled egg slices. 5) daily soup - green daikon and carrot with pork bone broth, black eyed & pinto beans

Very nice experience. The size of the dishes are at least 60% bigger than others. The waitress is very polite. The quality of food is excellent. If really need to comment, the price of the fresh fish is a bit expensive. 🙃 But the fish is very yummy and just done, not over or under.
