Mong Kok is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Mong Kok is one of Hong Kong's busiest shopping districts: Tung Choi Street (the Ladies' Market) and Fa Yuen Street (Sneakers Street) are lined with small shops, and the buildings along Nathan Road hold countless upstairs shops.

July 25, 2026 I came at 12pm on a Saturday and while some stores already laid out their goods, a lot of them were just starting to prepare for the day (is this a day or night market? why does the day start so late?) Mostly sells touristy trinkets, clothes and suitcases. Not bad if you want cheap souvenirs that are much more affordable and a stark contrast to the fancy West Kowloon or IFC areas with only branded goods. Quite fun to wander around but extremely and sickeningly hot when I went. Famous market but lots of fake products, no longer like the past (apparently).

So much fun visiting we went 3 nights in a row. Lots to see and buy but I’d recommend against buying electronics. We bought a neck fan and it died the next day. Lasted one hour. The vendors are very friendly and willing to negotiate.

Beautiful market with some good quality products like crystals and bags. The only problem is bargaining. They don’t have fixed prices. It is easily approachable from the nearby MTR station; after a short 2-4 minute walk you will be deep inside the Ladies Market, surrounded by huge variety of products from tote bags to purses to clothes to traditional Chinese games, souvenirs and gemstone bracelets etc. Posting below some outer pictures of ladies market.

No longer like in the past but it is still like walking through history when u come to the ladies market in Mongkok to find cheap stuff. With competition from neighbouring countries like Vietnam and Thailand etc, the goods are not as cheap as before in comparison and intellectual property movement has also dampened the appearance of fake luxury goods, though u can still get some good deals if you look hard. But on the whole, still nice to stroll the entire market and remember to bargain! It is opened rain or shine!

I absolutely loved the ladies market. All types of souvenirs, clothing, off brand products, food, and more is present. There is something for everyone here! The density is very interesting to see, but the market can be crowded. Around 10pm it seems to die down slightly. 10/10 visit.
