Lovely coffee bar with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The coffee and food were excellent, the service was friendly and attentive, and the setting has a lot of character. A perfect place to take a break, enjoy a good coffee and spend some time away from the busy streets. Definitely worth stopping by!

deluxe dirty ($68) — appreciated the milk they gave on the side to taste separately. it’s very sweet and creamy. when combined with the more acidic espresso, the flavors become balanced. though i wish it was a tiny bit sweeter overall though it was good, i wouldn’t pay such a steep price for it again. though i don’t know how much effort it takes to concentrate the milk lol basque cheesecake ($58) - decent portion for the price, nice slightly smoky flavor from the top. nice but nothing incredible

If you’re looking for a coffee spot with a serious sense of history, this is it. Tucked away in the old prison grounds opposite F Hall, the setting is easily the biggest draw. It’s a pretty surreal experience sipping a latte while sitting in the former prison cells or out in the main hall. The atmosphere is definitely the standout feature and makes for a unique backdrop. The coffee itself was solid and the staff were friendly, which is a nice contrast to the "hard" history of the building. Definitely worth a visit if you’re exploring Tai Kwun and want a café experience that’s a bit out of the ordinary!

Today we went to this prison-themed cafe in Tai Kwun. It was so cool! Not only is it super photogenic, but their tiramisu was surprisingly good too. They used Japanese sake instead of the usual rum. Their matcha latte was also nice — perfect for social media.

The shop was a bit tricky to find, and it took me a while to get there, it’s located inside a brick building at the northwest corner. I ordered the Jasmine green tea milk and the Avocado milkshake. They looked quite similar, but the flavors were completely different. The Jasmine green tea milk had a complex taste with a mix of bitterness and sweetness, which I enjoyed. The Avocado milkshake had a smooth, mellow avocado flavor, unlike any shake I’ve had before. The dining area was set up inside what looked like an old jail cell, which made for a fun and quirky experience.
