本校秉承天主教辦學宗旨，發揚基督「愛」的喜悅。為學生提供一個愉快的學習環境，在「靈、德、智、體、群、美」六方面得到均衡的發展，培養學生正確的價值觀，使之成為勇於面對挑戰、對社會有貢獻和具使命感的新一代。

為配合本地體藝發展，自2010年起學校積極推廣體育活動和健康生活，銳意發展成為觀塘區特色小學-運動型學校。 2011年學校推行「全天候電子體育課」，為全港首創的特色體育課。 2014年學校與香港理工大學護理學院合作，推行「駐校護士學童健康服務計劃」及「健康兵團伙伴計劃」。同時，學校善用社區內各項優化後的運動設施，持續發展特色體育課(如：足球、游泳、網球、非撞式欖球等)。 2016年在聖雅各福群會協助下，於校園內興建攀石牆，發展攀爬運動。 2021年學校在部分本地精英運動員支持下，增設「愛運動、好健康計劃」，讓同學體驗劍擊、桌球、空手道、芭蕾舞等運動。 2023年學校增設年一年級星期六體育延展課，包括：足球、芭蕾舞、跆拳道、劍擊及田徑。 2024-2025 年優化並推展星期六體育延展課至小一年級。長遠目標：學生能每天運動一小時，頭腦靈活身體好。 現在2026年，一所著重品學培育的運動型小學正處於成長中的階段。
