Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

強記大排檔 delivers the kind of honest, flavour-packed seafood that keeps Sham Shui Po locals coming back night after night. Tucked into a no-frills corner of the neighbourhood, the place has that classic dai-pai-dong energy—plastic stools, red tablecloths, and the comforting clatter of woks. I ordered the signature 白灼蝦 and the 豉椒炒蜆, and both arrived piping hot and glistening. The prawns, though modest in size, were impeccably fresh. Their sweet, oceanic flesh carried a delicate savory sweetness, elevated by the rich, creamy shrimp paste that clung to the heads and bodies. Each one was a little burst of pure seafood joy on taste buds. The house chilli soy dipping sauce was the perfect partner—fiery and sharply briny, with just enough heat to cut through the natural sweetness without overwhelming it. Dipped and eaten with fluffy steamed rice, it was pure comfort. As for the 豉椒炒蜆, those plump clams were wok-tossed in a glossy, deeply aromatic black-bean and chilli sauce until they opened to reveal juicy, tender meat. The green peppers and onions kept a lively crunch, adding brightness and texture to the robust, umami-laden sauce. The portion was genuinely generous. For seafood l

If you want the proper Hong Kong experience then this is it. It's clean and yet it's on the street. you can hear the roar and smell the food whilst waiting for the food you ordered. The food has one of the best wok hei you'll taste. One of the last ones in Hong Kong. You must go before they close down as you're not allowed to open new ones on the street anymore. Dying out as we speak

Noodles is delicious, dry and not oily at all. Salted pepper taufu is crispy as well. Curry chicken is HK local style and it’s not for my liking. Overall, above average.

Quality of food: 4/5 - good rice noodle soup with your choice of topings.  Barbecue pork and pork chop was warm and the noodles were springy with a light but refreshing soup Cleanliness: 2/5 - seating is outside on the sidewalk which is part of the experience of dining here Service: 5/5 - great service food came quick. The server was very kind. Value for money: 5/5 - very reasonable prices for what you receive. Recommendation:  4/5 - worth a try if you are in the area.  Before 5:30pm they serve breakfast food and do not have the main dishes.  I would recommend coming for dinner after 530pm to have the full experience.
