This was the easiest residence permit application I've ever experienced and that's saying something after living in Germany for a year and Austria for two! The staff were incredibly professional, though I’m still trying to get the hang of the local accent.

Crowded, noisy, slow and rude staff. Toilet had period blood on the seat. No toilet paper and facilities look 40 years old. Someone spill their coffee, the staff didn’t clean up the coffee cup they just threw newspaper on the ground.

Walked in for registration of HKID given urgent circumstances and needed an earlier appointment than what I could get online. I was lucky to get a slot on the day of my visit. Wait time was around 90 mins and the process took 30 mins after my number was called. All the staff I interacted with were really helpful. Overall a great experience!

Let me tell you. If you want to get a Hong Kong ID right now, give up. It’s impossible. Been trying for the past month to no avail. I can’t believe the government is so unorganized to deal with the amount of individuals who need the ID. I can’t do anything without the ID and I cannot get it. How wonderful.
