Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Causeway Bay is packed with malls and department stores and is very crowded at weekends; nearby Victoria Park hosts the Lunar New Year fair.

The atmosphere is great! It feels like an oasis in the busy city. The entrance is a little hidden, but you can figure it out eventually. The salmon salad is so-so. There’s quite a lot of lettuce underneath the salmon. If you’re crazy about lettuce, then it’s definitely your cup of tea. Most cafés use salad vegetables in their salads, but this one is different. Maybe the rent is terribly high in CWB—because the serving is very lettuce-heavy. I requested a cooked egg, and they made it that way for me. Even a Hong Kong-style café is better at cooked eggs than this coffee shop. I ordered a Vienna coffee, and it disappointed me. The cream in a traditional Vienna coffee is usually thick and sits on top of the cup, but what I got here was totally different. I haven’t seen this style in Vienna.

Quiet little cafe restaurant. I had half and half toast that consisted of truffle mushrooms on one and egg, bacon and cheese on the other. They were pretty good but a little on the oily side. Service wasn’t great but not bad either.

I’ve been a fan of Russell’s coffee and bakery for years, and sadly I feel very snubbed for my loyalty today. They gave paper thin toasts 1/4 of the normal thickness, because of how thin it is, it’s completely falling apart with jam soaked through. The ricotta, which always used to come perfectly portioned with the amount of bread, doesn’t even cover a single piece of toast, which is already comically thin and small. It’s okay to tell a customer you’ve ran out of items for sale, it’s not okay to make us wait over half an hour and pay full price for a breakfast that’s so disappointingly unfilling for what we’ve prepared to be an active day ahead. Very disappointed.

* Located in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong * Casual café known for coffee and light bites * Typically open daily (morning to evening) * Popular for a relaxed vibe and decent specialty coffee ☕ Overall vibe * A hidden, quiet café in busy Causeway Bay — good if you want to escape crowds. * Keeps the cozy feel of the old Cafe Corridor (same location, similar layout). * Small, slightly “hole-in-the-wall” entrance — can be a bit hard to find at first. ☕ Coffee quality * Generally good, balanced coffee, sometimes with fruity or floral notes. * Offers specialty options like pour-over and creative signature drinks. 🍽️ Food Pros: * Solid café menu: * pancakes, yogurt bowls, all-day breakfast * bagels (salmon + avocado is popular) 👍 Service & experience * Friendly and relaxed service overall * Quiet environment, good for: * chilling * casual meetings * solo coffee time

If you need somewhere peaceful and quiet to stretch your legs while you're in Causeway Bay, drop into Russell Coffee & Roastery. Taking over the previous location of Cafe Corridor, a popular hidden cafe, Russell Coffee & Roastery is continuation of its predecessor and churns out quality coffee and teas from their quaint venue. Here, you can also enjoy a range of bites that span from sweet and savoury pancakes, yoghurt bowls, all-day breakfast plates, to their regularly-changing desserts. The space is small but there’s around 8-10 tables. The staff wasn’t very friendly, busy talking among themselves despite me standing there waiting to place my order. The coffee was good ($42) and the hot chocolate ($45) not too sweet. We did not try the food though.
