山記五金機械行

山記五金機械行 is a hardware shop in Mong Kok, Yau Tsim Mong, at 九龍旺角亞皆老街4號. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it.

It pays to compare prices before you buy and to check that the price shown includes everything. Octopus, credit cards, FPS and e-wallets work in most shops, though small ones may be cash only or set a minimum for cards; weekend and public-holiday afternoons are busiest, so weekday daytime is better for a relaxed browse. Hardware shops cluster in older street-level shops; bring measurements or a photo so staff can match the part.

Google lists the opening hours as Mon–Sat 08:15–18:45, Sun closed. It is open 6 days a week. It is closed on Sundays, which is not unusual for a small shop, although malls and chain stores open all week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 2381 5328. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first.

It has a Google rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 26 reviews, a strong score that points to consistently positive experiences.

Mong Kok is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Mong Kok is one of Hong Kong's busiest shopping districts: Tung Choi Street (the Ladies' Market) and Fa Yuen Street (Sneakers Street) are lined with small shops, and the buildings along Nathan Road hold countless upstairs shops.
