When visiting a temple, church or other place of worship, dress respectfully, keep your voice down and follow any rules on photography. Lunar New Year, major religious festivals and weekends draw the biggest crowds, and some places only open at set times; if you want to join a service or ceremony, check the timetable first. Some temples are especially crowded at Lunar New Year and on deity birthdays, so avoid peak times.
Google lists the opening hours as daily, 08:00–17:00. It opens every day of the week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 2728 5959. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. Its website is ctc.org.hk, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.
At 4.0 out of 5 on Google (359 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.
Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

A small but well-kept and organised piece of history. I enjoyed my visit here. But don’t expect your visit to be too long if you are not there to light incense 😁

It's a small temple among the bustling streets. It's welcoming and you can see people drop by to worship.

The temple is a Qing vernacular building of a two-hall-one-courtyard plan of three bays. The building is constructed of green bricks with its walls and columns to support its pitched roofs of timber rafters, purlins and clay tiles. The courtyard between the entrance and main halls has been covered. A side platform is on either side of the temple entrance supported by two granite columns with a bracket system. The wall is also decorated with green ceramic bamboo balustrades for decoration. The main altar is at the end wall of the main hall houses the statue of the Sam Tai Tsz deity for worship. (AMO)
