I visited here in early 2024, and purchased my first pair of proper shoes; a pair of suede penny loafers from Crockett & Jones. The associates were very kind and accommodating, and took their time to explain the intricacies of each shoe, and gave proper style advice. The service was truly splendid and left me very satisfied. Furthermore they have a very good selection of shoemakers; be on the lookout for Crockett & Jones and Alden, and they even have some lower priced shoemakers such as Barker. Will definitely visit again on my next visit!

It took me about a year after my second pair from Tassles to learn how I was bamboozled and swindled by this shop. My defences were lowered because of their friendly attitudes. I asked to be sized. And was given a shoe that was too small. Being my first leather soled welted boot, I was told this was normal and my foot would break it in. It took me a long time to figure out how poorly sized I was. It took two broken shoe horns, back pain and advice from a cobbler on my first re-heel to learn about how the shoes, I bought from tassels, were too small for my feet. He pointed out how my shoes should be wider, and pointed to the extra mass hanging over the sole around the ball of my foot. I have two pairs of shoes from Tassles with my pinky toe hanging off one side of the sole and the ball hanging over the other. I've come to the conclusion that the shop did not carry any wide sizes. Therefore, instead of turning me away, they did their best to Cinderella my feet in those shoes. I regret buying my shoes from Tassels.
