Cafés, bakeries, dessert and drinks shops are often mainly takeaway with a few seats, and weekend afternoons are the busiest. Many accept Octopus, credit cards and e-wallets, and some run loyalty schemes or pre-orders; birthday cakes and festive boxes (mooncakes at Mid-Autumn, for example) usually need ordering in advance, a few days ahead on popular dates. Dessert shops are liveliest in the evening and some stay open late; ask for insulated packing for frozen takeaways.
Google lists the opening hours as daily, 12:00–03:00. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 2503 2501; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there.
It has a Google rating of 2.6 out of 5 from 183 reviews, which is on the low side, so read the most recent reviews before you go.
Tin Hau is part of the Eastern District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Most businesses use Cantonese, English is widely spoken in business and tourist areas, and many shops can also serve customers in Mandarin.

The best taro balls for me, very good and very soothing, it’s hot but very very good. The store is clean, enticing to the eyes.

This is the most disgusting “thing” I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t even call it food, it is not edible, it’s not made for human lol. I wish I have read the reviews, please save yourself and don’t come here. I don’t think we’ve ever spit out food like this, the chocolate lava cake tasted like a bite of someone’s puke. It tasted like molded cheese or even worse. I wish I could give it zero stars.

One of worst dessert shops in Tinhau. Service: The female waitress was in a lackadaisical mode all the time and being mean to her colleagues. Dessert Quality: Very Bad. If you order warm dessert and pay attention during your waiting time, you’ll hear Microwave reheating sound. Yet, surprisingly the dessert came out only lukewarm. This restaurant definitely deserves my rare 1 star in Google Review!

It was a weird experience. The waitress was very sour-faced and super super slow to serve everyone. Also, don't be misled by the photos on the wall, the portion size was sooo much smaller. The taste was ok, but it was disappointing for $50 and $55. I heard our neighbors at the table complaining about how slow the service was and even after they waited for 15 mins, that lady waitress came over and said she forgot what their order was. But no apologies, nothing. Just weird!! Won't come back.
