Avoid this scam at all costs. The cashier tried to scam me twice. I went there to exchange some USD to JPY, and he initially gave me only half of the money I should have received. Luckily, I did a quick calculation on the spot, went back to the counter, and pointed out the discrepancy. He wasn’t amused at all and gave me another 1000 JPY, but this was still 5000 JPY less than what I should have received. I confronted him again, and he finally gave me the rest of the money. Both times I went back, he had the money ready on his table without needing to recalculate, so I'm sure he was doing this intentionally. When I asked why he gave me less money twice, he claimed he was confused. This is his job, which he does every day, but he got confused twice? Avoid this place, and if you really have to go, make sure to do a quick calculation right there at the counter and confront them immediately. I have exchanged money inside Chungking Mansions many times before, but this is the first place where this happened to me.
