Absolutely terrible experience with UMP - on the check up day they missed registering me for a check that i had topped up for, ended up waiting for an additional hour in an empty stomach. They had left me stranded while everyone in the clinic went out for lunch! Then on the day where I had scheduled ann appointment with doctor to review the report, the doctor left early for lunch even though I arrived before their operating hour. The receptionist simply asked me to read the report myself. What’s the point of paying thousands of dollars if I’m supposed to read it myself. Worst checkup experience ever and I do not recommend this.

Bad body check experience: waited over 30 mins for ultrasound test without any guidance; doctor Chen spent less than 5 mins reviewing the report with me and only looked at the summary page and didn’t even bother to check if my elevated cholesterol level is due to HDL or LDL.

Had my annual checkup done on 29th June - below are a few warnings for those considering visitng the clinic (potential negligence) 1 - I requested any available doc onsite to conduct Papsmear and was informed there is going to be a male doc on duty and their male doctors do not perform Papsmear. First time I ever heard that (if same logic applies, forget about male gyno then) 2 - the appointment is 9h15am and i still had to wait 45 min (upon reminding reception). This was not the first time - same experience before (and worse). 3 - the worst part - they completely forgot about my medical report. After one MONTH not hearing from them, I called to check on the status as I was leaving HK. Was told to come in a few days (they said it usually takes a month to develop the report - EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES). I requested the report to be mailed and provided address. 3 weeks went by - still no report so I had to follow up again from overseas. Finally the report was received 1.5+ month after the check up. I am yet to review the report (as my friend had to courier to me) but I can only pray all is good. Otherwise I will consider taking legal actions.

Service from UMP Medical Centre is ok, and their location is great too. The doctor is very friendly, and asked in detail. However, the service from the staff can be improved. The centre is not big, people waiting here can be packed if peak hours

Reception is very unfriendly and curt, making patients feel like they are being a nuisance. I don’t recommend coming here. I went in for a foot sprain, but the doctor didn’t advise me to go to a physiotherapist (until I asked for the referral letter explicitly) and made it sound optional, instead prescribing me some medication and gel. She said I would be okay in one week’s time. After taking my doctor’s medicine for a week, there was slight improvement but my foot was definitely not fully healed. So I went to the physiotherapist, who then told me I had missed the golden period of recovery by not coming right after the injury, all thanks to listening to this doctor. This has set back my recovery by quite a few week’s time.
