When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Seafood is usually charged at market price, so ask the price per catty, the weight and any cooking charge before ordering.

Google lists the opening hours as daily, 06:00–24:00. It opens every day of the week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 2386 6118. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first.

At 3.7 out of 5 on Google (1,225 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.

Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

Man Fat Kitchen is the kind of dai pai dong that never disappointed me. It's a place I've been returning to for years with different groups of friends, and it continues to be one of my go-to spots for a satisfying meal. When I visited this time, I noticed that the menu prices had increased slightly. I was a little worried that the food quality might have changed as well, but you can always trust Man Fat Kitchen, they has maintained its high standards. My top recommendation is the Sizzling Chinese Kale with Pickled Mustard Greens in a Stone Pot, which is a unique dish that you don't often find elsewhere. Their Salt and Pepper Squid is always crispy and flavorful, while the Black Pepper Beef Cubes with Potatoes are tender, well-seasoned, and just as good as ever. One of the things I appreciate most about Man Fat Kitchen is the relaxed dining experience. Unlike many restaurants nowadays, there is no pressure to finish your meal and give up your table within a strict time limit. It's a great place to enjoy a leisurely evening with friends and family. They also accept reservations, making it a convenient option for larger groups. The only drawback is the restroom facilities. The res

This is definitely a local restaurant. It serves good traditional Cantonese food. Service is minimal. Decor is dated. It has many daily lunch specials.

The food is excellent. If you are a tourist, you must try the authentic Cantonese cuisine. Everything is very good. I especially recommend the Port wine baked oysters and the black pepper potato stir-fried beef.

Man Fat Seafood Restaurant 萬發海鮮菜館 This was our first time here. We didn’t make a reservation and just walked in, and luckily a table was still available. Ordering through the staff was easy, the food came out quickly, and everything we tried was delicious.

My friend kindly made a reservation at Man Fat Seafood Restaurant. When I arrived around 7:30 PM on a weekday, the restaurant was packed. It seemed to be quite popular among the locals. We ordered several dishes, including their signature black pepper diced potato with beef and oyster pancake. All of the dishes were quite tasy. As a Japanese visitor, a standout moment for me was the warm hospitality of the staff, who tried to speak Japanese. They said phrases like "Thank you" and "Please wait for a moment" in Japanese. One of the male staff members even spoke Japanese fluently. These interactions made my dining experience all the more memorable.
