Shau Kei Wan is part of the Eastern District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

They used to have a larger collection of ChoroQ when they were still next to the Mercedes service centre in Tai Koo. But the cool thing is, there’s a collection of Carven Toyota toy collection there. It’s pretty hard to find I believe, especially those Toyota Crown Comfort RC cars, since Carven is more toy oriented instead of geared towards collectors like ChoroQ and Tomica. Took me by surprise~ I went there again since I found out there will be toy market taking place every first weekend of the month. There are many vendors scattered throughout the entire place. There’re a bit more ChoroQ being sold but still mainly Tomica.

This place ought to appear in tourist books, as I feel this is indeed a unique gem worthy of visit, especially for visitors as well as toy collectors. Rows and rows of glass cases full of vintage and contemporary toys, the place feels like a maze and I have actually gotten lost in there. I have found so many toy cars that I have missed out on over the years. It's literally a life-sized treasure chest for the kid in you. Every time I visit Hong Kong, I'm dropping by here and dropping money for toys.

Awesome experience down memory lane. The older and rarer the item the more expensive it is, but that is logical to me. I really enjoyed my time here though I didn’t find any thing that I wanted in my budget or would fit my luggage also.

Coming across this place by chance was a truly exciting discovery. To call TOYZONE a toy store is an extraordinary understatement that fails spectacularly to capture the beauty of this toy haven. This place has the personality of a store, a theme park, a storage facility, and a museum of toy collectibles all merged into one. Obviously, first and foremost TOYZONE’s business is to sell toys and, given the floor space, it has a warehouse-sized ambition to sell lots of toys. But there’s more than meets the eye. Browsing through the store is like walking through the massive Hangar 51 in Raiders of the Lost Ark. There are racks and racks of toys organised categorically and stacked from floor to ceiling. Just the simple act of strolling through the collections will make you as giddy as Uncle Scrooge McDuck swimming in money. If you are seeking something rare or special, you don’t need a 1.21-gigawatts-charged Delorean to go back in time or treasure-hunt like Lara Croft. Just be prepared to spend large chunks of time exploring and you are bound to find your bounty.

Toyzone (玩具地帶) is part museum, part consignment store. They have the largest selection of retro toys in Hong Kong at market prices. They have toys from my favorite anime's that I have never seen before. When you purchase items, the staff will open the items for you to inspect before you leave the store. That part is critical because you don't want to leave with missing items. You get to inspect the toy for loose joints, discoloration or defects in manufacturing. Paying cash will save you a credit card fee. You can easily spend an hour here because of the wide selection. Some of the aisles are really small. Be sure to look up and down because stuff are stacked to the ceiling. The cashier gave me a free paper bag. For plastic bags, they have to charge a fee. Well done everyone at Toyzone.
