About 窩仔山
窩仔山 is a park or outdoor spot in Shek Kip Mei, Sham Shui Po, at 九龍石硤尾. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it.
About 40% of Hong Kong's land is country park or special area, and hiking trails run through every district. Before a hike or a beach day check the Hong Kong Observatory forecast and warnings, bring enough water, sun protection and a charged phone, and stay on the trail; the country parks ask visitors to take their litter home. In summer, avoid hiking at midday, carry plenty of water and take extra care when the Very Hot Weather Warning is in force.
Google lists it as open 24 hours, seven days a week, though arrangements may change in a typhoon or other special circumstances, so call if it matters. No phone number is listed, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best starting point for directions and any contact details Google has.
It has a Google rating of 4.1 out of 5 from 334 reviews. Opinions are mixed but broadly steady, and the latest reviews are the best guide to what to expect.
Shek Kip Mei is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Kowloon is densely packed: Nathan Road runs north from Tsim Sha Tsui towards Prince Edward, lined along with its side streets by shops, restaurants and upstairs businesses, and most places are a few minutes' walk from an MTR station. Mong Kok's street markets, Sham Shui Po's electronics and fabric streets and Kowloon City's Thai restaurants are familiar landmarks for shopping and eating. Most businesses use Cantonese, English is widely spoken in business and tourist areas, and many shops can also serve customers in Mandarin.

This is an interesting area en-route to the old reservoir. The hillside was littered with shrines and ping-pong tables, put there by locals who have hijacked the area and turned it into an outdoor recreational club.

Nice and easy hike. Lots of free table tennis courts available for the public. Abandoned church ruins were quite interesting to see. The actual view from the top of the reservoir wasn’t great; shrouded by a lot of trees and fences.

This review is for the Ex Sham Shui Po service reservoir tour. On top of Bishop Hill (well, underneath it) sits the historic water reservoir discovered a few years back, but dates back to 1904. There are lots of stories about its discovery and use, so I won't get into too much detail, when so much is already out there. You can book the tour online if you are lucky, as there are only a few tours a day with limited numbers. After a very nice introduction by the Water Services Department guides, it's off down the metal stairs and into the reservoir itself. Incredible! The walk up and back down Bishop Hill is really interesting with quite a few sights along the way. Really worth the effort of trying to get on the tour. Recommended.

I like this place especially because all the paths and amenities have been laid out by private citizens making a native garden for themselves. A good place to catch a breeze on a hot day, the old folk here seem healthy and happy.

I was surprised when I went there. First there is such place in the city and second the amenities were donated and built by the local people, not the government. It is a nice place for walk but need to be cautious. There are wild dogs up there. Just don't interact with them. The stairs to the hill were also maintained by the local people, use at your own risk.
