Before hiring a contractor, describe the job clearly and ask for a written quotation listing the items, materials, timetable and payment stages; comparing two or three quotes is normal. For work in a flat, the building management office usually needs to be told and sets its own working hours, and the law restricts the use of powered equipment between 19:00 and 07:00 and on Sundays and public holidays. Laundries charge by the piece or by weight; check your ticket and the condition of items on collection.

Google shows it as open around the clock; any changes on public holidays or in severe weather are announced by the business itself. Phone: 9852 8062. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. As this is a mobile number, a WhatsApp message may also work. Its website is laundryyup.com, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

It has a Google rating of 3.2 out of 5 from 12 reviews, which is on the low side, so read the most recent reviews before you go.

The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Causeway Bay is packed with malls and department stores and is very crowded at weekends; nearby Victoria Park hosts the Lunar New Year fair.
