Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Causeway Bay is packed with malls and department stores and is very crowded at weekends; nearby Victoria Park hosts the Lunar New Year fair.

Staff were helpful most of the time. Application procedures were clear to follow, and the assessment process was very swift. Fees charged are reasonable for taking care of the stray animals taken to the shelter. Successfully adopted a kitten within a week of visiting!

Used to think well of SPCA and in awe of their efforts in rescuing animals but ever since my plea was ignored to allow the feline I expressed interest in rescuing pending paperwork to keep her kittens, I cancelled my annual donation right away. They operated on her, aborted her babies which was the cause of her poor health (pyometra) and UTI according to vets she consulted with in SG and SYD. She underwent three major operations during her brief 10 years with us, deprived her the quality of life. Your lack of care and respect for life took a beautiful life away too soon. And for that, you have lost a potential long time donor. At SPCA, she was known as Elsa but we renamed her Sasha after we adopted her mid year in 2013. It was my son’s 6 year old birthday wish to a rescue a cat. He didn’t want a birthday party nor presents. Wants to give a rescue a loving home. This review was 12 years over due and upon seeing a review of a dog was refused surgery and euthanasia was recommended instead, compelled me to share my thoughts on this supposedly animal loving organisation. Shame on you that you haven’t changed for the better! You are a hypocrite and I hope my review will bring awarenes

Many doggies are looking for their forever home. No registration is required to visit the doggies. This is where you go for dog adoption.

SPCA Wanchai - Ruthless, cold hearted, a complete lack of compassion and care. Our beautiful Golden Retriever who has been family to us for 10 years had right paw cancer in her back leg. An extremely happy dog full of life who loves her family, with blood test results showing besides the cancer in her paw, she was in great health. SPCA Wanchai doctors took a quick look at her and suggested euthanizing the dog right away. They refused to do an amputation and turned us away. But not only that, what is unforgivable is they refused to do medical imaging, a simple ultrasound scan - to prove that the Dog was otherwise healthy. So they turned us away and said they only would accept euthanizing our dog. When I asked why you would refuse a simple medical scan, they just said 'we don't see the point in doing it'. For me, that is CRIMINAL and a complete lack of compassion and care for the oath that Vet's take when undertaking their job. I have never heard of anything like it ever before. Fortunately, we didn't believe a single word that they were saying, we took Elsa elsewhere. She had a very straight forward amputation done, with a miraculous recovery and is already back to her usual h

A sizable charity organization to protect the animals in Hong Kong. This Hong Kong island centre was located near the Wan Chai ferry pier and the bus terminal, which was quite convenient. There was a taxi line outside the building and a gas station on the adjacent side. A temporary car park was steps away. Although the building was old, the interior part was still functioning well. Dogs and cats, as well as other pets, were available for adoption. The procedures were serious in order that the new parents would take care of the pets with heart in the future. Veterinarians were stationed here, and advance booking was required. Products for pets were also offered for sale.
