新一眼鏡, an optician in Kwun Tong, is at 九龍觀塘成業街19~21號成業工業大廈4樓 21室. Before heading over it is worth checking the hours, phone number and Google rating below, so the trip is not wasted. This is an upstairs shop: the way in is usually through the building lobby rather than from the street, so check the building name, floor and unit before you go and allow a few minutes for the lift.

Shops in Hong Kong keep long hours, many until 21:00 or 22:00, and mall shops usually open around 10:00. Keep your receipt: returns and exchanges are generally at the shop's own discretion, so ask before you buy, and for electronics check whether the item is a local-warranty model. If a dispute arises, the Consumer Council can advise or take a complaint. Eye tests can be done by a registered optometrist; ask whether the test is charged and how long lenses are guaranteed.

Opening hours: Mon–Tue 11:30–19:00, Wed closed, Thu–Sun 11:30–19:00. That makes 6 working days a week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. You can call 9346 8331; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. It is a mobile number, and many local businesses also answer enquiries on WhatsApp.

Google shows 5.0 out of 5 based on 2 reviews; with so few opinions the score can move quickly as more customers weigh in.

Kwun Tong is part of the Kwun Tong District in Kowloon. Kowloon is densely packed: Nathan Road runs north from Tsim Sha Tsui towards Prince Edward, lined along with its side streets by shops, restaurants and upstairs businesses, and most places are a few minutes' walk from an MTR station. Mong Kok's street markets, Sham Shui Po's electronics and fabric streets and Kowloon City's Thai restaurants are familiar landmarks for shopping and eating. Many Kwun Tong industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios; note the building name and floor, as access can differ in the evening and at weekends.
