循道衛理觀塘社會服務處

循道衛理觀塘社會服務處, an association or charity in Kwun Tong, is at Flat A, 6/F, Takad Centre, 135 Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon. Before heading over it is worth checking the hours, phone number and Google rating below, so the trip is not wasted. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.

Community facilities and organisations usually post their opening hours, activities and enrolment details on their websites or social media, and popular activities fill up quickly. Call before visiting and bring ID; before donating to a charity, you can check the Inland Revenue Department's list of tax-exempt charities.

Opening hours: Mon–Fri 09:00–17:00, Sat 09:00–13:00, Sun closed. It is open 6 days a week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. Phone: 2342 2431. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. Its website is ktmss.org.hk, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

At 3.9 out of 5 on Google (12 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.

Kwun Tong is part of the Kwun Tong District in Kowloon. Kowloon is densely packed: Nathan Road runs north from Tsim Sha Tsui towards Prince Edward, lined along with its side streets by shops, restaurants and upstairs businesses, and most places are a few minutes' walk from an MTR station. Mong Kok's street markets, Sham Shui Po's electronics and fabric streets and Kowloon City's Thai restaurants are familiar landmarks for shopping and eating. Many Kwun Tong industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios; note the building name and floor, as access can differ in the evening and at weekends.
