Gyms, yoga studios and sports venues usually offer monthly memberships, class packs or pay-per-visit; read the contract term, cancellation rules and extra charges before signing, and avoid prepaying a very long membership. Weekday evenings and weekend mornings are busiest, and many offer a trial class. Public pools open in sessions with breaks for cleaning, so check the session times before you go.

Google lists the opening hours as Mon 06:30–12:00 and 13:00–17:00 and 18:00–22:00, Tue 06:30–10:00 and 18:00–22:00, Wed–Sun 06:30–12:00 and 13:00–17:00 and 18:00–22:00. It opens every day of the week. Note the break in the middle of the day: it opens in two sessions. You can call 2540 6708; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. Its website is lcsd.gov.hk, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

At 4.1 out of 5 on Google (615 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.

Sai Ying Pun is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Great pool when it’s open. Unfortunately they frequently close it with no notice to the public, so you’d have to walk there to know it’s closed. Kind of excusable

good service, kind cleaners, swimmers are kind+friendly, but the place its Bit dirty, bit slippery, very humid. I enjoyed swimming there, water is clean and comfortable temperature.

Last year: The park provides a standard pool, a training pool and three irregular amoeba outdoor water space. Indoor got crowded after noon. The water is cold during summer and warm in winter. Women came in flocks, and coach gangs played aggressively towards the young learners. Overall helpful people and staff in a nice venue with variety of eateries and food truck nearby. Tourists can oversee on the scenic bridges an huge unearthed session (to what I guess) to the shelter by Hollywood River alike.

Most chaotic swim experience I’ve ever had. People dangerously ignoring the keep left directions, placing themselves in the wrong lanes for their speed/ability, overtaking on wrong side. No control or intervention from staff. Felt very unsafe. Many out of order showers/facilities.

Great place to swim and exercise. Clean pool and clean locker rooms. 17 dollars adult entry fee. Bring a 5 dollar coin for lockers (you get it back).
