Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

Not the best food. Definitely the best vibe. One of the few remaining “trolley dim sum” (推車仔點心). Passionate staff who love their job, their food and their customer. Feels like home. Do try the BBQ pork pastry if they just came out from the oven. Worth every single calorie.

This traditional dim sum restaurant carries a strong sense of nostalgia for us. We had visited it many years ago for dinner, when it was well known for its signature 鹽焗雞 (salt-baked chicken)—a dish that left a lasting impression. After closing down for a few years, the restaurant has reopened, and we happened to walk past and noticed that it now serves dim sum in a very traditional style. The restaurant itself is a bit old, and the interior shows its age, but it adds to the old-school charm rather than taking away from the experience. What immediately stood out was that dim sum is served on push carts, with staff moving around the dining area just like in the old days. This is something rarely seen in Hong Kong nowadays, as most dim sum restaurants have switched to ordering by checklist or QR code. The cart service instantly brought back the atmosphere of classic Cantonese dining. We ordered a wide variety of dim sum, and overall the quality was reasonable and consistent, staying true to traditional Cantonese flavours. Naturally, we also ordered their famous 鹽焗雞, which lived up to our memories—aromatic, well seasoned, and satisfying. That said, the prices were slightly on the hi

Central Restaurant is a traditional tea house provide dim sum and other food.Their dim sum is traditional type and with lady to serve you with push cart. I tried their "har-kaw蝦餃" and "four combination chicken roll四寶雞扎”. The har-kaw portion is generous but the prawn are too soft (不夠彈牙), the chicken roll yam and other fine but the chicken come with bones which is quite rare when compare to other dim sum restaurants.
