About Baron Kay's Tailor
Baron Kay's Tailor, a tailor or shoe repairer in Tsim Sha Tsui, Yau Tsim Mong, is at 1/F, 海景大廈43 麼地道尖沙咀九龍. Before heading over it is worth checking the hours, phone number and Google rating below, so the trip is not wasted. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.
It pays to compare prices before you buy and to check that the price shown includes everything. Octopus, credit cards, FPS and e-wallets work in most shops, though small ones may be cash only or set a minimum for cards; weekend and public-holiday afternoons are busiest, so weekday daytime is better for a relaxed browse. A made-to-measure suit usually needs two or three fittings, so mention your deadline at the start.
Opening hours: Mon–Sat 09:00–19:00, Sun 10:00–18:00. It opens every day of the week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. You can call 2723 2839; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there.
It has a Google rating of 4.2 out of 5 from 10 reviews. Opinions are mixed but broadly steady, and the latest reviews are the best guide to what to expect.
Tsim Sha Tsui is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. The Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront has the Avenue of Stars and the Cultural Centre, Star Ferries cross to Central and Wan Chai, and the area is full of hotels, malls and restaurants.

I used to utilize the services of Baron Kay's Tailor in Hong Kong. Sadly, I can no longer recommend them. At one time they made all of my suits, sports coats and shirts. Recently after over 20 years of purchasing from them I met with the sales staff in the Washington D.C. area. The Manager, I believe his name is Ken but i am not certain of that, was extremely rude. He was also unhelpful and very difficult to deal with. I am amazed at his attitude. We did not argue but his comments were grossly unprofessional. I recently decided that I might give them one more chance as anyone can have a bad day. When I contacted them this same person said we threw out your size chart. What tailor would do such a thing? Sadly, I doubt they will be around much longer as Customer Service is the key to continued success and theirs is horrible! They have gone from 5 stars to one star and that was generous, given their attitude!
