About Café Zi

Café Zi is a vegetarian restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui, Yau Tsim Mong, at 九龍尖沙咀山林道高荔商業中心. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it.

When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Some vegetarian restaurants are fully vegan while others use eggs and dairy, so ask if it matters to you.

Google lists the opening hours as daily, 12:00–21:30. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 7073 7865. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. It is a mobile number, and many local businesses also answer enquiries on WhatsApp. Its website is facebook.com, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

At 4.2 out of 5 on Google (316 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.

Tsim Sha Tsui is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. The Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront has the Avenue of Stars and the Cultural Centre, Star Ferries cross to Central and Wan Chai, and the area is full of hotels, malls and restaurants.

The ambience is super lovely. The food was nice. The service was great (although it came with charge 😆). We ordered 2 pasta dish; mine was spicy korean that was not spicy but slightly sweet. Their chocolate cake was very yummy. Would love to go back and try more especially the drinks!

Really liked the ambience at Cafe Zi. It has that clean, minimal, Muji-style wooden vibe that just feels calm the moment you walk in. The space is quiet and comfortable, great for sitting down with a book or just slowing down for a bit. It is especially nice on a rainy day when you just want somewhere cosy to stay for a while. They also have a set lunch menu with quite a good range of vegan options, which is a nice touch. I am allergic to chocolate and was happy to see they offer desserts without it too. The staff were warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. There is a vegetarian buffet nearby, but this place felt way more inviting so am glad to dine here.

As a first time traveller to Hong Kong, it’s not easy to find vegetarian/vegan cafe that offers fresh vegetables. The food is delicious and fresh. The cafe is comfortable and cozy. There is a crystal shop inside. Please note that there is a minimum order per person. Not a big issue. I just wish it’s communicated clearly before customer sit on the table.

Amazing experience at cafe Zi, our best meal during our whole Hong Kong trip, including a great kids menu and free gifts for our daughters! The food was lovely and fresh and would definitely visit again!

So glad we found this place! Beautiful cafe and wonderful vegan food. Some of the things we had: the lychee cocktail, plant-based shrimp roll, avocado poke rice bowl, Taiwanese braised vegan pork rice, pistachio milk, dark chocolate cake. So delicious!!
