Yau Ma Tei is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Kowloon is densely packed: Nathan Road runs north from Tsim Sha Tsui towards Prince Edward, lined along with its side streets by shops, restaurants and upstairs businesses, and most places are a few minutes' walk from an MTR station. Mong Kok's street markets, Sham Shui Po's electronics and fabric streets and Kowloon City's Thai restaurants are familiar landmarks for shopping and eating. Yau Ma Tei's Temple Street night market comes alive after dark, while the nearby fruit market is busiest before dawn.

Hong Kong style roastery. They serve roast pork, duck and goose. The price is relatively affordable to Hong Kong standard. We found the quality of the food is excellent. Service is prompt.

Had a good dinner at this restairant. It was full on a weekday when me and my entourage arrived at about 7pm. We were handed an english menu which made ordering easier. The roast goose was good. While the skin could have been crispier, the goose meat was flavourful and not as tough as others which I have tried. The roast pork belly was good but again the skin could have been crispier for it to be perfect. Our order was char siew was the standout. While not the same as those we get at home, this had a good proportion of fat and lean meat. It was really good. Service was good. They were accomodative to our attendant orders. Atmosphere was tight and you will be elbowing each other typical of a similar restaurant in HK. The fact this restaurant is a corner unit, made it a little better to enter and exit the shop.

Darn good char sui. On the fattier side if not specified upon ordering. HK style so it’s on the sweeter side but not way too much like many other local places. The lean pieces are so juicy and tender. Great job! Finished the pork atop my rice dish and had to order another plate of the roast pork to further indulge. Mmm.

It’s a small restaurant and most of the customers are locals. Not many tourists. The food tastes good in a simple way, you don’t really need to add any extra sauce. The flavor is just right on its own. It’s a bit oily, but in a good way. The portions were bigger than I expected. My favorite part was the crispy duck skin. It was super crispy and fatty at the same time🤤. Great choice if you love fatty food like me 😂

True local spot, non-tourist area. No line Meat = average at best. Photos = big fat lie. Taste = “eat lah, don’t waste food” level. Pro: Cheap + fast. Con: Zero wow. Verdict: Survival food when you’re lazy. That’s all. 😂🍖
