Yau Ma Tei is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Yau Ma Tei's Temple Street night market comes alive after dark, while the nearby fruit market is busiest before dawn.

We've been to this restaurant twice and both times the food and service were excellent. We were very pleased with our experience.

A restaurant that brings back the golden days of traditional authentic Hong Kong dim sum. During our visit, the experience felt truly nostalgic. From the moment the bamboo steamers hit the table, everything looked and tasted like how dim sum used to be which is simple, comforting, and full of tradition. The char siew bun was fluffy with a sweet-savoury filling, the pan-fried taro cakes had a perfect crisp edge, and the steamed malay sponge cake was soft, warm, and fragrant. The har gow and siew mai were delicate and well-balanced, while the shrimp cheung fun was silky and smooth, dressed in just the right amount of soy sauce. The congee with century egg and pork was creamy and soothing. That was the kind you could eat every morning. What stood out most was the atmosphere. It wasn’t just about the food, but the feeling. The teapots, the buzzing tables, the timeless dim sum trolleys or trays. It reminded me of weekend family gatherings from years ago. For anyone craving classic dim sum with a touch of old-school charm, this place absolutely delivers. I’m giving it a high rating not just for the food, but for preserving the soul of traditional yum cha in the heart of Hong Kong.

Steamed fish and taro balls were good. Service was a bit slow so you just have to wait. At the end you get fruits as well which are sliced for convenience.
