Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Central is Hong Kong's financial and business heart; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links the streets up the hill, Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo come alive at night, and the Central piers serve the Outlying Islands.

🍸Tasting Hong Kong: DIO’s “Sippable Memories” Central’s cozy yet lavish cafe-bar, DIO, has unveiled its new “Sippable Memories” menu, translating Hong Kong’s rich heritage into masterful cocktails. A true standout is the Pepper Tom, an inventive liquid homage to the traditional pickled cabbage and pepper soup 🥣 . Driven by white peppercorn-infused vodka and a pickled cabbage cordial, it offers a highly fragrant, savory aroma without being overwhelmingly sour on the palate. For a comforting twist, Bonham Strand is a rare, hot cocktail ♨️The combination of warm broth and spirits provides an incredibly heartwarming and relaxing experience. Visually and conceptually, the Canal Road Flyover steals the show. Featuring barrel-washed rose dew and jasmine tea, this floral creation is served on a wooden tray complete with an incense shrine and a tiger🐯 figurine, paying a theatrical homage to the local "villain hitting" ritual to scare away bad spirits. DIO masterfully uses mixology as a storytelling medium, capturing the timeless soul of Hong Kong in every sip.

Tucked away amidst Central‘s traditional tenement buildings, Dio is a cozy specialty coffee shop by day, focusing on single-origin brews. As night falls, the lights dim, and it seamlessly transitions into an experimental cocktail bar. What makes them stand out is their fluid interpretation of Hong Kong’s local cultureand collective memories 🇭🇰 Recommended Cocktails🍸 DRIED SEAFOOD STREET (Seasonal) An audacious creation bursting with a rich marine umami from the oyster infusion, cut beautifully by the tartness of roselle and a warm hint of chilli. Very complex and bold! MONSTER BUILDING (Seasonal) Light and refreshing at first sip with fresh cucumber and citrus notes, but the heavy-hitting blend of 5 spirits sneaks up on you later. True to its name. Be careful 😎 DIOSOY (Signature) The highlight of the night. Oat milk + black glutinous wine magically recreate that silky, comforting Vitasoy profile, finished with a subtle warmth from the ginger tea. Perfect adult comfort drink. ICED PINEAPPLE (Signature) A sophisticated spin on local diner iced pineapple. The Tequila and tropical pineapple are balanced brilliantly by the savory, fresh complexity of coriander and green pepper. Inc

very small cafe & bar that serves super good cocktails, with lots of hong kong traditions infused. they use locally brewed gin and to mix with chinese kind of alcohol that made excellent surprising cocktail drinks. we had one with oyster, one with canned soy fish, both were superb. i'm happy to come again soon and try everything on the menu!

This little bar genuinely surprised me in the best way. Every cocktail is infused with strong Hong Kong-style elements and creative twists — the flavours are so enjoyable and unexpected that I couldn’t stop at just one. The interior is stylish yet relaxed, striking a perfect balance between atmosphere and comfort, making it ideal for slowly savouring drinks. The bartender is very attentive and patiently explains the concept and ingredients behind each cocktail, which adds a lot to the experience. Best of all, the pricing is very reasonable — almost every cocktail is $128. Definitely a place I’ll be returning to again and again.
