About Gold Coast Seafood Restaurant

When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Seafood is usually charged at market price, so ask the price per catty, the weight and any cooking charge before ordering.
Google lists the opening hours as daily, 09:30–23:00. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 2861 2168. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first.
At 3.6 out of 5 on Google (516 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.
Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

Went here to yum cha with my family, as my mom kept stressing the prices were really economical during afternoon tea hours. . We ordered the following dishes: -Shrimp Dumplings The skin was thin and the shrimp was fresh. -Pork Dumplings Topped with a bit of crab roe, the dumplings were meaty. -Pan-fried Turnip Cake The turnip cake was somewhat mushy, but had a generous amount of turnip in it. -Pan-fried Chives Dumplings With an extremely crispy skin, the dumplings were hotly-fried. They had a leeky flavour. -Steamed Pork Rib with Black Bean Sauce The pork rib was nicely marinated, although some contained quite a bit of fat. -Steamed Brown Sugar Sponge Cake The cake was sweet and soft, and had a spongy texture. -Steamed Squid in Curry Sauce The squid was pleasantly chewy and thickly sliced. It blended well with the curry sauce. -Steamed Chicken Feet with Sauce The feet were tender and easy to bite. -Honeycomb Tripes in Sauce The tripes were flavourful, and the black pepper enhanced its savoury. -Ginger Cake Didn't try so not sure abt the taste. . The Chinese resto only charged HKD2 tea per person during afternoon tea hours. Originally my mom would like to order Pig Blood C

foods are nice especially with the deep frieds dishes, however, time them for the tea time session is tight and provide little services, price is okay in general but i would not say this is my first choice for yum cha,

A local hotpot restaurant in the centre of commercial area of Wanchai. Close to Wanchai MTR Station and at competitive price, it offers fresh and quality seafood and the beef is particularly good! A brilliant place for friends to get together. Tried their lunch as well. The dim sums are excellent and reasonably priced.

Another local gems of wanchai, hotpot is tasty and in very acceptable price. (E.g. Mala Spicy Beef Soup $128 / Beef $88 / Shrimp $68@6pcs / mixed mushroom $45 etc.) . More importantly, many of the beers are selling at $12.8 per bottle, even cheaper than normal stalls / supermarket. Good place for casual local dinner with friends indeed

Dim Sum are a bit greasy and not very strong in flavour. But the fried noodle and stir fry vegetables are good. Seat are very crowded. Afternoon is busy. Reasonable price.
