About 古本屋
古本屋 is listed under books & stationery in Sham Shui Po. The address is 九龍深水埗基隆街190號1樓E室. Below you will find what people usually look up before a visit: the exact location, contact details, opening hours and the Google rating. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.
Shops in Hong Kong keep long hours, many until 21:00 or 22:00, and mall shops usually open around 10:00. Keep your receipt: returns and exchanges are generally at the shop's own discretion, so ask before you buy, and for electronics check whether the item is a local-warranty model. If a dispute arises, the Consumer Council can advise or take a complaint.
Opening hours: Mon closed, Tue–Sat 15:00–20:00, Sun closed. It is open 5 days a week. It is closed on Sundays, which is not unusual for a small shop, although malls and chain stores open all week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. There is no phone number yet; if the business has a website or social media page, try there, or use the Google Maps link on this page for the latest details.
It has a Google rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 8 reviews, a strong score that points to consistently positive experiences.
Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

The one you would first attracted by its comic and movie posters display and then interesting conversation with bookstore owner. Located in hidden gem of Shum Shui Po, the bookstore has strong focus on movie, literature, design, art, comic and music and good mix of book in English and Chinese. Compare to other bookstores I visited, it has relatively open and spacious display and clear labelling of different sections. You can also tell his strong interests in the filming, from movie posters he had on display, the discs for sell and through the conversation. If you are looking for a hideaway space and relaxing experience of book treasure hunting or an unique conversation, it is the place to go. Due to solo run operation, do aware it has relatively short operation hours (open Tuesday to Saturday 3-8pm only) and it may vary, please check Booska facebook for most updated information. #touringaround #hk2handbookstores
