About Holam bakery

Holam bakery is listed under bakeries & cake shops in Kwun Tong. The address is 九龍觀塘開源道60號4樓i室. Below you will find what people usually look up before a visit: the exact location, contact details, opening hours and the Google rating. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.

When choosing a café or dessert shop, look at whether prices are shown, whether plant milks or less-sweet options are available, and whether there is a time limit on seats. Many open seven days a week, but some small shops take a weekly day off; for cakes or large orders of pastries, calling ahead is the safest bet. Bakeries usually bake fresh in the morning and late afternoon, and popular items can sell out early.

Google lists the opening hours as Mon 12:00–19:30, Tue 12:00–18:30, Wed–Sun 12:00–19:30. It opens every day of the week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 6931 2774; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. As this is a mobile number, a WhatsApp message may also work. Its website is facebook.com, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

It has a Google rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 138 reviews, a strong score that points to consistently positive experiences.

Kwun Tong is part of the Kwun Tong District in Kowloon. Kowloon is densely packed: Nathan Road runs north from Tsim Sha Tsui towards Prince Edward, lined along with its side streets by shops, restaurants and upstairs businesses, and most places are a few minutes' walk from an MTR station. Mong Kok's street markets, Sham Shui Po's electronics and fabric streets and Kowloon City's Thai restaurants are familiar landmarks for shopping and eating. Many Kwun Tong industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios; note the building name and floor, as access can differ in the evening and at weekends.

I believe it’s my 3rd/ 4th time buying a whole cake for special occasions from here. I like how their cakes are not overly sweet for a dessert. As I ordered my cake over WhatsApp, the respondent was very patient, recommending me the different cakes and flavors available based on my preferences. When I went to retrieve the cake and was $1 short as I paid by cash, the owner even offered to leave it (I managed to find another dollar in my pocket in the end so phew). You can imagine it’s only a matter of time for me to return!

Having discovered Holam Bakery back in 2023 while working part-time in the same industrial building, it instantly became my go-to treat before and after shifts, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Tucked away on the 4/F (units I and J) of Camel Paint Building Block 3 in Kwun Tong, this hidden gem specialises in meticulously crafted mille crêpe cakes. The bakery’s origin story is as impressive as its pastries: established in 2013 by a passion-driven owner born in the 1990s, he saved his hard-earned money from working part-time while studying at the same time to start the business at just 20 years old, renting the studio to experiment with original cake recipes. That dedication successfully transformed a modest online operation into the popular brick-and-mortar studio it is today. Its remarkable craftsmanship has not gone unnoticed, securing prestige like the 2024 OpenRice Best Restaurant Award for Best Cake Shop, extensive features on U Lifestyle, and even taking the coveted top spot ahead of Lady M in a Weekend Weekly ranking. When it comes to the menu, the undeniable crown jewel is their rich, decadent D24 durian crêpe cake. It's so wildly popular and sells out so

Their cakes are the bee’s knees in local bakeries. They are not too sweet and the layers can maintain its softness upon the 3-4 hours storage. Better not order their strawberry flavour as its taste is too artificial. If you have made the reservation for 8-flavours cakes, remember to “defronze” them before head as some maybe over frozen and become icy. In other bakery, some of their cakes are overpriced and charge you nearly HKD90 per piece. In contrast, each slice of cake only costs you HKD 38 at this decent bakery shop.

My first experience with mille crêpes and it's really good. We tried the matcha version. Visually, it's almost like an art piece. Its not overly sweet yet has the pleasant matcha flavour. Its actually lighter than expected and not too filling. But 1 piece for 2 person is enough. I have never been to Lady M but this bakery might be a cheaper yet equally tasty alternative.
