About 胡同

Hong Kong’s most spectacular Chinese restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui’s H Zentre. Home to the city’s best Peking duck and breathtaking harbour views. The menu includes contemporary dim sum, signature ‘Red Lantern’ crispy soft-shell crab, spectacular Flaming Peking duck, Sichuan-style lobster and much more. The restaurant’s interiors are glamorous, and the main dining room is adorned with glowing red silk lanterns. Hutong is also a popular location for private dining experiences, business lunches, and special celebrations.

胡同 is a Cantonese and dim sum restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui, Yau Tsim Mong, at H Zentre 18/F, 15 Middle Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it. This is an upstairs shop: the way in is usually through the building lobby rather than from the street, so check the building name, floor and unit before you go and allow a few minutes for the lift.

When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Dim sum restaurants usually charge a per-person tea fee, and dishes are priced by size; weekend mornings from about 10:00 to lunchtime are the busiest, and many places give out queue tickets. Book wedding and birthday banquets months ahead.

Google lists the opening hours as Mon–Fri 12:00–24:00, Sat–Sun 11:30–24:00. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 3428 8342. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. Its website is hutong.com.hk, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

Customers give it an average of 4.3 out of 5 on Google (1,411 reviews), a high score by any measure.

Tsim Sha Tsui is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere.

The food is amazing~ especially the Peking duck. The mocktail is very nicely blend and not too sweet— just to the point. The vibe is super cool. And the most important thing, the service is super friendly and polite— Eddie is the star that night ~ Thank you for giving us such a fabulous dinner time

What a wonderful restaurant. We had a window seat with an exceptional view of the Harbour. The service was extremely attentive and gracious. Our food was delicious. We had asparagus, razor clams and duck. I have never had such perfectly cooked asparagus. The razor clams were garlicky and yummy. The duck was sublime!

Tried this place a year or so ago and was delighted by their unique twists on dimsum so I decided to come back and bring some other family members over. I was surprised that the same brunch menu had changed but it was better than last time. I was quite happy as well that they accommodated my request to be put on a table beside the window for the spectacular view of the city. Some points for improvement would be the service though as this time I believe the staff were not as well trained or perhaps new where we were seated. Food came in slow as they didn’t really check up on us much and our plates were changed only towards the end of the meal unlike the previous time. Overall still a great experience and my family and I were delighted.

I booked a table for 8:00 PM to celebrate my partner's birthday, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The service was excellent, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and well looked after throughout the evening. The food was delicious, with every dish beautifully presented and full of flavour. The stunning view combined with the light show was the cherry on top, making the celebration even more special. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience.

If there’s one place in Hong Kong that never fails to impress me, it’s Hutong. Perched high above the city, the harbour view alone is breathtaking, especially at night when the skyline lights shimmer across the water. It’s the kind of setting that instantly elevates the entire dining experience. Dramatic, romantic, unforgettable. But the real magic is on the plate. The Peking duck is roasted on the spot, carved with precision, and served perfectly crisp with delicate pancakes and all the classic accompaniments. You can taste the craftsmanship in every bite, authentic, rich, and deeply satisfying. And the dim sum basket? A must. Beautifully presented, freshly steamed, and packed with flavor. Each piece feels intentional and refined, not just traditional but elevated. Hutong manages to deliver both atmosphere and authenticity, something that’s surprisingly rare. It’s one of my absolute favorite places in Hong Kong, and without hesitation, a restaurant I will return to again and again. Definitely one to repeat.
