I took.Mandarin Chinese lessons her for over three years, from beginning at HSK 1 to the intermediate HSK4.My Mandarin tutor Chris was helpful and patient in guiding me to distinguish the different tones and in drilling me on the many characters. My improvement in retention, comprehension and fluency was visibly apparent even to myself and culminated in me taking and passing the HSK3 exam. Would highly recommend!

I had a great experience with Mandarin lessons here. My tutor, Chris, was excellent! The lessons were fun and enjoyable and I made good progress in written and spoken Chinese, including learning how to recognise and write hundreds of Chinese characters. I had individual lessons with Chris and appreciated his flexibility as my busy work & travel schedule meant that I constantly had to change our lesson times. I highly recommend this language centre.

My experience in the International Language Centre Hong Kong has been great. The administration and staff are very professional and supportive. My teacher, Mr. Lam, is amazing. He teaches in a way that is easy, smooth and fun. He explains the theory very good but also he shows how to use the concepts in a real and practical way. I have learned a lot from him and I truly recommend it.

Chris’s Chinese(Cantonese) class was truly enjoyable and rewarding. What I thought would be a difficult language became fun and easy to learn thanks to Chris’s clear and engaging teaching style. He explained pronunciation, grammar, and conversation in a way that was easy to understand, and always took the time to make sure I fully grasped each concept. The class atmosphere was always positive and comfortable, which made it easy to ask questions and participate actively. I could really feel my skills improving with every lesson. Thanks to Chris, I’ve gained confidence in using Chinese(Cantonese) and developed a genuine interest in continuing to learn. I highly recommend Chris’s class to anyone who wants to start learning Chinese(Cantonese) or take their skills to the next level!

I am so lucky I found this school and teacher Chris Lam for Mandarin lessons. I completed HSK 1 in a few short months, a full 15 chapters of immense language learning. Chris worked with me to learn nearly 150 characters, loads of words, sentence structure, and cultural context. He was extremely encouraging and so fun to work with. He is very funny and finds ways to help you remember content based on not just the books but your personal interests so that learning the language means something to you! Beyond formal learning, Chris and the school is very accommodating on lesson times and locations for those with busy schedules!! I'm very grateful to Chris and the International Language Centre for helping me begin my Mandarin journey. If you are looking for the best experience possible, call the school and ask for Chris!! You'll be glad you did!
