Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Central is Hong Kong's financial and business heart; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links the streets up the hill, Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo come alive at night, and the Central piers serve the Outlying Islands.

A delightful dining experience at La Vache! Soho. The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked, paired with their signature fries and sauce that never disappoint. Their coctails were also excellent. I am personally also fond with the fresh berry flavour of their French Martini. Special thanks to Mary for her excellente service: attentive, warm, and professional throughout the evening. It is also truly heartening to see the team come through the tough times during COVID and continue delivering such high standards. A place I would gladly recommend and return to.

We had a layover in Hong Kong and got dinner to celebrate our first anniversary here. La Vache made it extra special. Steak was out of this world, the fries were crisp and weren’t greasy at all, and they even gave a complimentary slice of meringue cake to commemorate the occasion. Staff, especially Mary, were attentive and were smiles all around. It’s best to make a reservation as it gets pretty crowded (and for good reason). La Vache! is a charming restaurant that captivates you with good food, warm staff, and an over-all good time. We’ll definitely come back.

Had a fantastic dinner here recently. The food was excellent from start to finish — the steaks were cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and served with great attention to detail. Every dish we ordered was well prepared, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. What made the evening even more memorable was the exceptional service. Our waitress Mary noticed some dried mangoes from the Philippines and immediately connected with us. Her genuine enthusiasm, warm personality, and positive energy created a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. She was attentive without being intrusive, checked on us at just the right moments, and clearly took pride in ensuring guests had a great experience. Combined with the outstanding food, her hospitality made this one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we've had in a long time. Highly recommended, and we look forward to coming back again.

Dinner for one can sometimes feel a bit daunting, but my experience at **La Vache!** was the complete opposite. I walked in without a reservation, and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming—they kindly found a table for me right away despite the buzz of the room. What really stood out was the service. From the moment I sat down, the team was incredibly attentive and warm; I didn't feel like I was dining alone for a single second. The concept here is simple but executed perfectly: * **The Start:** A crisp, fresh green salad with walnuts and radish, paired with warm bread and that signature patterned butter. * **The Main:** The steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, served on a warming tray with their famous secret sauce. The fries were hot, salty, and dangerously addictive. * **The Vibe:** Classic Parisian steakhouse energy with red-and-white checkered accents and a lively atmosphere. If you’re looking for a spot where the food is consistent and the hospitality makes you feel right at home (even as a solo diner), this is it. I’ll definitely be back!

We had the most amazing dinner at La Vache last night. I’ve gone here several times during past trips to Hong Kong and while all dinners here have been consistently delicious, last night was special and probably the best time I’ve had so far thanks to the exemplary service and genuine warmth of our Filipina server, Mary. She took such great care of us from the beginning to the end of our meal, serving our meals promptly (steak was incredible & perfectly cooked as usual), offering freshly cooked fries & Béarnaise as soon as our plates started looking bare, and entertaining us with fun anecdotes here and there without being intrusive. I ordered a Vesper from another server which they forgot about and Mary generously decided to serve me one and put it on the house after a late follow-up. Really appreciated the gesture. La Vache has always been of my favorite restaurants when visiting Hong Kong and still stands strong on my list of recommendations. If you just happen to have Mary as your server, you’re in for quite a treat!
