Not a natural advocate for buffets, but Paradise Veggie makes a convincing case for an exception. The tip came from our tour guide — a vegetarian and Hong Kong local — which is about as reliable a source as you can get. It delivered. The spread is entirely plant-based but stays true to the flavors and textures of classic Hong Kong dim sum, and that’s no small thing. The food genuinely recalled the meat-filled dim sum of years past — not as a pale imitation but as something that stands on its own terms. For anyone after a vegetarian meal in Hong Kong that doesn’t compromise on local culinary character, this one is worth seeking out.

Many individuals speak highly of this establishment. While I am not typically a fan of vegetarian options or buffets, I accepted an invitation from friends for dinner and decided to give it a try. From my personal perspective, it did not quite meet my preferences. The serving tongs for the food were all placed together rather than having one for each tray, which resulted in some dishes having an unusual taste or aroma. The dim sum and sushi were particularly disappointing. The standout items were the special soup and abalone, both of which were brought directly to our table. These two dishes were available only once.
