About 緻素坊
緻素坊, a vegetarian restaurant in Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, is at 4/F, 491-499 Lockhart Rd, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Island. Before heading over it is worth checking the hours, phone number and Google rating below, so the trip is not wasted. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.
Many Hong Kong restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill, and tipping beyond that is optional. Popular places fill up at lunchtime and on weekend evenings, so book by phone, WhatsApp or a platform such as OpenRice; some set a time limit or a minimum spend. Most offer both dine-in and takeaway, and Octopus, credit cards, FPS and PayMe are widely accepted, though smaller places may take cash only. Some vegetarian restaurants are fully vegan while others use eggs and dairy, so ask if it matters to you.
Google lists the opening hours as daily, 11:00–16:00 and 18:00–22:00. It opens every day of the week. Lunch and dinner are served in separate sessions with a break in between. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 2366 9223; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. More information is on its website, veggiekingdom.hk.
Customers give it an average of 4.6 out of 5 on Google (139 reviews), a high score by any measure.
Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Veggie Kingdom is an absolute treasure, offering some of the best dim sum in Hong Kong! The food is excellent, and my dad couldn't believe it was vegan. He said he couldn't even tell the difference from its meat-based counterparts. The delicious dumpling in soup filled with a mix of mushrooms and faux shark fin was a standout, bursting with flavour. In a time when many dim sum items are reheated from frozen products, Veggie Kingdom prides itself on serving freshly made, mouthwatering dishes. The owner must be a fun-gi for dreaming up such fantastic dishes. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic dim sum experience! It is all that and dim-sum.

This was my favorite vegan restaurant during my stay in Hong Kong! I went once for dinner and once for dim sum in the morning and loved it both times. I brought four non vegan colleagues with me, and they all said the food was delicious. I would come back to Hong Kong just to eat it again. Dinner (4 people): Braised eggplants Sweet and sour pork Veggie goose Tofu cubes Stir fried flat rice noodles + 1 rice bowl per person Morning dim sum (2 people): Golden veggie dumplings Mushroom rice noodle rolls Mushroom Siu Mai Veggie dumplings in spicy sauce

We ordered Veggie Fish Filet in Sour Spicy Sichuan Soup, Organic Tomatoes and Wonton in Great Soup, Pan Fried Veggie Dumplings, and Mushroom Siu Mai. Each dish was very good. We also ordered jasmine tea ($24) which was good as well. We couldn't finish one of the soups, and we were charged $3 for a to-go container, which in fairness was more substantial than most to-go containers. The initial server indicated we would have to hustle to finish by 4pm when they closed, as we got there at 3:05. It would've helped if we didn't have to wait nearly 15 minutes for someone to finally notice my hand up, to take our order. And we still got up from the table just before 4. Part of this was my fault for showing up just under an hour before closing time. But the slow service exacerbated the issue, and put a damper on the experience. We would return if we were in the area. Food was still solid.

Awesome experience overall! We went fir an early dinner around 6.45 pm on a sunday. As we didn't have reservations, we were asked to sit inside if we could finish the dinner by 7.30 otherwise to sit in the outdoor section. The outdoor section though nice was little noisy due to the surrounding. So we chose to sit inside. Food was delicious, portion size was quite good and ambience relaxed. All the dishes we ordered were very tasty. We loved the Dan Dan noodles, fried tofu and the stir fried tofu and mushrooms with Sichuan - hot, spicy and simply delicious with thick pieces of tofu! Service was not bad. The mango dessert was simply outstanding in taste and presentation. We were offered Jasmine tea. They charge 15 hkd per person for tea during dinner and 10 % service charges. Definitely a must visit even if you are not a pure vegetarian.
